Asia Pacific Roundtable for Sustainable Consumption and Production

Mission

The mission of the Asia Pacific Roundtable for Sustainable Consumption and Production is to foster dialog among industry, government, academia, and non-government organizations in the region to address sustainable consumption and production issues. Its goals include:

  • Promoting information exchange among its members through newsletters, e-mail list servers, technical journals, special publications, conferences, and symposia.
  • Conducting training sessions, workshops, and possible staff exchanges to increase the skills and knowledge of members and other interested parties.
  • Acting as a clearinghouse for the exchange of data and information on cleaner production in the Asia Pacific region, including reports, books, articles, data, and statistics.
  • Developing and maintaining a directory of professionals involved in the promotion of cleaner production who are available to provide advice and counsel.
  • Assembling qualified and objective committees and working groups that can provide competent and objective analyses on policy reforms and initiatives and other priority issues.
  • Supporting the development of new country-level production roundtables and fostering sharing of information and experience among existing and planned country-level cleaner production roundtables.
  • Strengthening relationships among APRSCP, its members, and appropriate regional and international organizations.
