We are pleased to announce an international training course, "Introducing Community Forestry: Innovative Ideas, Practices and Methodologies", which will be held from 20 to 30 March, 2006 jointly organized in Nepal by Forest Resources Studies and Action Team (ForestAction ) Nepal and Regional Community Forestry Training Center for Asia and Pacific (RECOFTC), Bangkok, Thailand to be held in Hotel Himalaya, Kathmandu.

ForestAction and RECOFTC have collaborated to design a training program that will identify and analyze key community forestry concepts, practices and methodologies. The training will take place in the Kathmandu Valley of Nepal. The course will utilize the extensive experience of community forestry in Nepal as a building block to explore the issues, but further case studies and experiences from throughout the region will also be incorporated into the course to expand the discussions.

The course is designed for development workers and mid-level managers involved in forestry, agriculture, and NRM both from government and NGOs. The course brochure and the application form are attached with this email. If you (or colleges) are interested attending the course, please contact to Bal Krishna Kattel at forestaction@wlink.com.np / or Kiran Paudyal at krp@forestaction.wlink.com.np for further information.
